‘The Situation of Mehdi’ wins 6 noms at Shahr filmfest

Iranian movie ‘The Situation of Mehdi’ has held the record for the most nominations at the Shahr International Film Festival.

Written and directed by Hadi Hejazifar, the film won six nominations at the 2022 edition of the event.

‘The Situation of Mehdi’ nominated for the best screenplay, best actress, best actor, best technical achievement, best feature film directing and best film.

‘The Situation of Mehdi’, produced by Habibollah Valinejad, is a war drama portraying the life story of Mehdi Bakeri, the chief of IRGC 31st Ashura Division that carried out several major operations during the war.

In addition to the director, Rabbani-Nia, and Zamani, the cast list includes Zhila Shahi, Vahid Hejazifar, and Vahid Aqapour.

‘The Situation of Mehdi’ was nominated in 14 categories and won five Chrystal Simorgh awards at the 40th Fajr Film Festival.

Filmmakers from around the world took part in the short fictional, documentary film, and animated movies sections.

The festival is organized every year under the auspices of Tasvire Shahr Institute at the Art and Cultural Organization of the Tehran Municipality.

The eighth edition of the Iranian event was held on July 18-22.
